Atlas Building Co. of Florida, a Sarasota-based startup commercial construction firm launched earlier this year, has hired two new executives.

Michael Dooley was named a vice president, according to a statement. He has more than 25 years of construction experience, including working for his family's successful Sarasota-based contracting business. Dooley later founded RCS Group Inc., a Jacksonville-based firm that focused exclusively on retail construction.

In addition to Dooley, Ralph Ladd was named a superintendent at Atlas. Ladd has managed many multimillion-dollar projects from concept to completion, including a Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites Hotel in Calgary, Alberta and the historic renovation of a Hampton Inn & Suites in Bradenton.

Construction industry veteran Andy Stultz founded Atlas after a decade with another firm.

"We continue to strengthen our project management team and enhance our ability to serve our growing base of public- and private-sector clients in Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte counties," Stultz says in the statement. "Our goal is to deliver high-quality projects that exceed our clients' expectations."
