Airport posts best February in history

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport had its best February of all-time in 2016, according to a statement.

In the month, 137,907 passengers traveled through the airport, an 18% increase over February 2015. Last year, the airport set an annual record with more than 1.6 million passengers. Through the first two months of 2016, the airport has posted a 16% year-over-year increase in passenger traffic.

Service to three new destinations is scheduled to begin at the airport with Allegiant in the next few months. Flights to Dayton, Ohio and Flint, Mich. will begin in April, and flights to New Orleans will start in June.
