Hospital board names new chair

SARASOTA — Doctors Hospital of Sarasota named Eddie Morton the chairperson of its board of trustees, according to a news release.

Morton, who was born in Tampa, owns Morton's Gourmet Market in Sarasota. He has served on the board for the Doctors Hospital since 2014.

Doctors Hospital of Sarasota is a 155-bed care facility in Sarasota County. It has been named to Modern Healthcare's “Top 100 Best Places to Work” list for each of the past seven years, the statement says.
