FORT MYERS — A one-week CEO Academy program will teach young entrepreneurs the basics of running a successful business.

Florida Gulf Coast University's Institute for Entrepreneurship and Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida will host rising high school juniors and seniors from Charlotte, Collier and Lee counties at Lutgert College of Business at FGCU in Fort Myers from June 20 to 24.

Experienced local business leaders, entrepreneurs, small business development counselors and faculty will help students work in project teams to develop a unique business concept, comprehensive business model and prototype.

The students will present their business plan to a panel of Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame laureates for a chance to win $9,000 in college scholarships from the Southwest Florida's Family Business Foundation and Breaking Par at Grandezza. The panel will pick two winners who will share the award.
