TAMPA — Suncoast Credit Union, the largest credit union in Florida, named Kevin Johnson its next president and CEO, effective in October.

Johnson has been with Suncoast since 1985, most recently serving as executive vice president and chief information officer, a statement says. He replaces Suncoast's former president and CEO Tom Dorety, who retired after 20 years as the top executive.

Johnson also serves as board secretary of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and is the director of the board for the league's Leverage Service Corp., the statement says. He is involved with the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation and the Credit Union National Association.

Suncoast Credit Union has $7.5 billion in assets and more than 700,000 members. The credit union has 60 branches throughout 21 counties in Florida.
