FORT MYERS — Michigan-based Dahlmann Properties acquired Tanger Outlets in Fort Myers for $26 million in cash.

The center, built in 1993 at 20350 Summerlin Road near the foot of the Sanibel Bridge, has 198,877 square feet of shops and is about 91% occupied, according to a statement from seller Tanger Factory Outlet Center. Dahlmann has renamed the center the Sanibel Outlets.

“Dahlmann Properties will bring a fresh outlook and local ownership to the center,” said Ben Dahlmann, senior vice president of Dahlmann Properties, in a statement. “As owners of other shopping centers, hotels and a golf course in the area, we are pleased to add Sanibel Outlets to our southwest Florida portfolio.”

Dahlmann owns several Sanibel shopping centers and hotels. The company owns Periwinkle Place Shopping Center, Heart of the Island Shopping Center, The Sanibel Inn, Song of the Sea Oceanfront Resort, Seaside Oceanfront Resort, Sunset Beach Oceanfront Resort and the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club.

Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Dahlmann has appointed The Outlet Resource Group to lease and market the center and Avison Young to manage the property.

“The teams from both The Outlet Resource Group and Avison Young were chosen because of their sterling reputations, unrivaled expertise and their unique, asset-driven approach to the centers that they lease, market and manage,” Dahlmann says in a statement.
