PALMETTO — En-Vision America Inc., a manufacturing and technology company from Illinois, has expanded into Palmetto with a 10,000-square-foot facility.
The facility, at 825 Fourth St. W., will handle sales and administrative functions for the company, according to a statement from the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corp. The company qualified for downtown commercial core incentives from the Palmetto Community Redevelopment Agency, including an estimated $7,000 base and $14,750 in bonus incentives if certain targets are met, the statement adds.
“En-Vision America is another example of an innovative company related to the region's emerging life sciences sector,” Bradenton Area EDC president and CEO Sharon Hillstrom says in the statement.
“En-Vision America, our newest City of Palmetto corporate partner, will help our local economy with new jobs and a growing tax base,” adds Palmetto Mayor Shirley Groover Bryant in the statement. “They should help spur even more private investment and encourage our local restaurants and businesses.”
En-Vision America manufactures products, such as its talking bar code scanner that helps with identifying items via its UPC code, for people with visual impairments.
