TAMPA — Workforce training and online education company VectorLearning named area executive Jeff Gordon its new CEO.

Gordon, previously CEO of Tampa-based mobile communications firm Syniverse, replaces former CEO Tom Wallace, according to a statement. Wallace will step away from the position, but will remain part of VectorLearning's board of directors, the statement adds.

Gordon has co-authored seven U.S. patents related to real-time telecommunications, the statement says. “The future of eLearning excites me as technology continues to change the landscape of how people learn in both formal and informal settings,” Gordon says in the statement.

Tampa-based VectorLearning focuses on the architecture, engineering, construction, industrial and public safety industries. Its online library consists of more than 4,000 courses.
