Home prices in the North Port-Sarasota-Manatee region, including distressed sales, increased by 12.8% in November 2015 when compared to November 2014, according to real estate data provider CoreLogic. That more than doubles the nationwide increase of 6.3% year-over-year.

Florida overall posted the fifth highest year-over-year home price increase of any state, up 7.9%, according to CoreLogic. Colorado had the highest statewide rise, at 10.4%.

CoreLogic's forecast says home prices nationwide will increase by 5.4% on a year-over-year basis from November 2015 to November 2016.

“Heading into 2016, home price growth remains in its sweet spot as prices have increased between 5% and 6% on a year-over-year basis for 16 consecutive months,” says Frank Nothaft, CoreLogic's chief economist, in a statement.
