TAMPA — With its late December acquisition of Delfin Group USA LLC, a lubricant blending and packaging facility in Charleston, S.C., Tampa-based Amalie Oil Co. now has two facilities in major U.S. ports with deep-water access.

The acquired property is a 42-acre facility on the Cooper River at the Port of North Charleston, according to a statement. It includes a deep-water pier, rail access and is located in close proximity to major federal interstates, the statement adds.

The new facility will help Tampa-based Amalie “service both the domestic and international markets,” Amalie Motor Oil President Harry Barkett says in the statement.

Amalie's total tank storage will increase to 32 million gallons as part of the acquisition, which brings an additional 14 million gallons of storage.

Amalie Oil Co., founded in Franklin, Pa. in 1903, moved its headquarters to Tampa in 1998. The company has more than 250 employees.
