SARASOTA — Isaac Brownman, Sarasota County's public works director, has been named the county's top engineer, according to a statement.

As public works director, Brownman currently oversees transportation, field services and capital projects. He has worked for Sarasota County for 16 years and was appointed to public works director in March 2014, the statement says.

Brownman has also previously worked as an engineering supervisor and manager and a public infrastructure design manager. He takes over for Carolyn Eastwood, who has served as interim county engineer for the past 16 months.
