ST. PETERSBURG — Anchor Insurance announced the appointment of two executives: John Wortman was named president and Kevin Pawlowski was named chief operating officer.

Wortman most recently served on the board of governors for Florida Citizens Insurance Corp., a statement says. He has been CEO of several insurance entities, including Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corp., American Mutual and Michigan Mutual, among others.

Pawlowski has a background in business and accounting, the statement says. He was previously CEO of MP TotalCare, a pharmacy company based in Tampa.

“John has a solid track record of leading successful property insurance companies operating in catastrophe prone areas such as ours, providing us with valuable insight and a strategic advantage,” says Daniel Bowman, chairman of the Anchor Insurance Holdings board of directors, in the statement.

“Kevin's business experience will play a key role as we continue to expand Anchor's operations,” Bowman adds.

St. Petersburg-based Anchor Insurance provides home insurance coverage to homeowners living in storm prone areas.
