SARASOTA — The PNC Bank building in downtown Sarasota sold for $15.9 million earlier this month, according to Sarasota County records, in one of the largest recent real estate sales in the city.

Ringling & Orange 2 LLC, a firm managed by Rebecca Hunzeker, bought the property, including two nearby parking lots on State Street and Orange Avenue, from Atlanta-based Mirsko Ringling Holdings LLC. Building tenants include PNC Bank and the International Union of Police Associations.

The 71,100-square-foot office building, built in 1983, last sold for $13.25 million in 2011, according to Sarasota County records.

The recent transaction is the most expensive commercial real estate sale in Sarasota since an investment group headed by entrepreneur Jesse Biter bought Sarasota Main Plaza, also downtown, for $18.1 million in November.
