College adds trio of board members

SARASOTA — New College of Florida named three new board members and reappointed three others, according to a statement.

The college's board of trustees, the statement says, now includes the following members:

• William Johnston, reappointed Jan. 28. Johnston served as president and COO of the New York Stock Exchange from 1996 to 2003;
• Felice Schulaner, reappointed Jan. 28. Schulaner is a past president of the New College Foundation. She previously served as senior vice president of human resources at Coach;
• Audrey Coleman, reappointed for a term that began Jan. 21 through Jan. 6, 2021. Coleman currently serves as a board member for the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and Children First. She has served on the New College of Florida board since 2011;
• John Lilly, appointed for a term that started Jan. 21 and runs through Jan. 6, 2021. Lilly is the president of John Lilly Strategic Insights;
• Fermin Miranda, appointed for a term that started Feb. 8 and goes through Jan. 6, 2018. Miranda is the senior vice president of Cadence Bank and is chair of the international trade committee for the Bradenton Economic Development Corp.;
• Norman Worthington, appointed for a term that began Feb. 8 and runs through Jan. 6, 2021. Worthington is CEO of Manatee County-based Star2Star Communications and Copytalk LLC. He previously served on the New College Foundation board.

New College of Florida is an honors college in Sarasota. The college had 834 students enrolled in the fall of 2014.
