Cash sales for homes in the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton region accounted for 48.2% of all sales in October 2015, a 9.6% decrease compared to October 2014, according to data provider CoreLogic.

Despite the decrease, the region's cash sales rate remained well above the national rate of 33.9% in October, which fell from 36.4% in 2014. Nationwide, the cash sales rate peaked at 46.6% in January 2011, the CoreLogic report adds.

Florida as a whole also outpaced the national average, with a cash sales rate of 46.7%, the report says. Only Alabama was higher, with a 51.7% cash sales share.
