ST. PETERSBURG — The Station House restaurant and co-work space is scheduled to undergo a series of renovations in the coming year, its founder and owner says.

Steve Gianfilippo says the former fire and train station, at 260 1st Ave. S. in downtown St. Petersburg, will be expanded with the addition of a rooftop garden terrace and a new restaurant. Work will begin early in 2017.

The rooftop terrace will feature a shaded pergola with foliage and vines reminiscent of a New York building, and cater to intimate parties and dining.

The name and concept behind the new restaurant will be announced once build out begins, Gianfilippo says in a statement.

Plans also call for a mural to be added at the front of the five-story building, along with enhanced streetscape and landscaping. In addition, Station House intends to install a new men's locker room and shower and renovate its Green Richman Arcade.

The new restaurant within the roughly 32,000-square-foot building is scheduled to be completed by next summer.

“It's again time for Station House to recruit talented designers and partners from the best cities all over the world and introduce them to St. Pete,” Gianfilippo says.

Currently, Station House contains a restaurant and bar, cafe, co-work space and office suites. The building is available for large corporate events and private parties, and memberships are available.
