TAMPA — Health care software firm CareSync announced plans to hire several hundred people next year, with a goal of hitting 500 employees by the end of 2017.

The Tampa-based company, which developed an app-based virtual nurse program, is also moving into a new headquarters, according to a statement. It plans to invest up to $4.5 million in the new headquarters facility, adds the release, from the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp.

The company currently has about 250 employees. The new jobs will fill a variety of roles, including clinical care coordinators, product developers, human resources, IT and administration. The firm's new offices are in the Hidden River Corporate Park.

"As a company that believes Tampa Bay is a growing hub for health care and technology services and an ideal place to live, work, and play, the decision to continue our expansion plans in beautiful Hidden River Corporate Park was an easy one," CareSync founder and CEO Travis Bond says in the release. "Over the years, we have been very fortunate, growing to become the largest national provider of care coordination for Medicare's chronic care management program. We are excited to share the next chapter of our success with current and future employees of CareSync."

CareSync's software focuses on chronic disease management, and coordinates care among patients, family and caregivers. The program, on web, iOS, and Android, helps coordinate labs and procedures, schedule follow up appointments and match patients with special programs, health care discounts and other services, such as transportation to appointments.
