LAKEWOOD RANCH — Roper Technologies Inc. plans to acquire a global software company before the end of the year for $2.8 billion in cash.
Deltek marks the latest acquisition in a push to expand Lakewood Ranch-based Roper's application software capabilities, says Brian Jellison, the company's CEO.
Deltek is expected to generate $535 million in revenue and $200 million in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in 2017, Roper says.
“Deltek is a terrific company with clear leadership in its niche market, numerous growth opportunities, a strong financial profile and a management team that will thrive as part of Roper,” Jellison adds.
Roper intends to finance the purchase through cash on hand, an existing credit facility and new debt it intends to issue later this month, the company says.
Mike Corkery, Deltek's president and CEO, says he expects Roper will “aggressively invest in our products and people.”
Deltek's end users are located in 80 countries worldwide.
