VENICE — Window and door manufacturer PGT Industries Inc. purchased a 2.5-acre lot in north Venice to build a daycare facility.

The PGT-owned facility, at 101 Triple Diamond Blvd., will be operated by the Venice branch of the SKY Family YMCA, a statement says. The 8,109-square-foot daycare center will be open six days a week and will have a capacity of 150 children.

Including the land acquisition, the total cost of the project will be $1.9 million, the statement says. PGT paid $341,800 for the parcel, according to Sarasota County records.

Construction on the daycare is set to begin this summer, the statement says. The building, which will have classrooms, sleeping environments and an outdoor playground, is projected to be open in the first half of 2017.
