ST. PETERSBURG — Katie Pemble, C1 Bank's Florida market president, has resigned from the bank and the boards of the bank and C1 Financial (symbol: BNK; recent price: $18.70), the bank's holding company.

Pemble, one of the region's most prominent female bank executives, started at the bank, when it was called Community Bank of Manatee, as president in 2010. Prior to C1 Bank, she served as president and CEO of Florida Bank and Bank of St. Petersburg and Pinellas county president for Bank of America.

The bank released no explanation for the resignation.

According to its filings with Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., the St. Petersburg-based bank had 247 employees and net income of $7.92 million through the first two quarters of the year ended June 30. It had $2.76 million in net income for the same period last year.

Pemble discussed issues impacting women in business as part of a five-person panel of the region's top female business leaders in the Business Observer's February 21, 2014 issue. To read and see the panel's thoughts click here.
