Party time: event company sold

TAMPA — Atlanta-based Neutrino Media Group's Rock Media Division acquired the Tampa branded entertainment and event company Big City Events.

Big City Events, founded by Monica Varner, has operated on the Gulf Coast since 2011. It has produced a number of advertiser-funded events including the Bourbon and Brew Fest, Summer of Rum, Tampa Tee Off and Tampa Bay Margarita Festival.

Through the joint venture purchase, Varner and her partner, Ferdian Jap, will become part of Rock Media. The division plans to handle all of the Tampa company's events and scale them nationwide. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Rock Media will hold its first event from the acquisition Nov. 21, with Bourbon and Brew in Tampa.
