NeoGenomics signs deal with large health care purchasing group
NeoGenomics Inc. (symbol: NEO; recent price: $5.94) reached a deal with Premier Inc. on a national group purchasing agreement. Premier is one of the largest health care group purchasing organizations in the country. It represents about 3,600 U.S. hospitals and 120,000 other provider members.
The three-year agreement gives NeoGenomics the distinction of being the first specialized oncology reference laboratory to become a preferred in-network lab option for all Premier member hospitals, cancer centers, pathology groups, and oncology/physician providers nationwide. The agreement includes full access to all of NeoGenomics' oncology testing services.
Lee County Port Authority hires airport construction official
Hector Yanez has joined the Lee County Port Authority as director of engineering and construction. He is responsible for managing all the designs, studies and analyses related to the airport's improvement projects. Yanez will also coordinate all construction activities at Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field.
Yanez comes to the Lee County Port Authority with more than 15 years' experience in commercial construction, development and project management, including 10 years of airport project work. Most recently, he was a project manager for Manhattan Construction in Naples. Prior to that, he held various roles at Owen-Ames-Kimball Inc. and worked as a field engineer at Noriega Campiño & Cia in the country of Colombia.
The Lee County Port Authority operates Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field in Fort Myers.
Norwegian, Carnival plan new cruises from Port Tampa Bay
Port Tampa Bay has announced two new cruise ships will depart from the port.
Port Tampa Bay will be homeport for the Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Jade, which will replace the Norwegian Star, for the 2016-2017 fall and winter cruise season.
The 2,402-passenger ship will sail a seven-day Western Caribbean itinerary departing to Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico; Roatan, Honduras; and Harvest Caye, Belize. In addition, the Norwegian Jade will sail two eight-day Western Caribbean holiday trips in December 2016.
Carnival Cruise Line also plans to bring its 2,124-passenger Carnival Pride cruise ship back to Port Tampa Bay in early 2017.
The cruise operator will have a series of five- to 14-day voyages in January and February 2017. Tampa has been a homeport to Carnival ships for more than 20 years.
The 88,500-ton Carnival Pride, which just underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation, will visit several destinations including Cozumel, Mexico; Belize City; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Grand Turk, B.W.I.
HomeBanc ranks second on Best Banks to Work For
Tampa-based HomeBanc N.A. ranked second in American Banker magazine's 2015 Best Banks to Work For list. To be considered for the list, banks had to have at least 50 employees working in the United States and needed to be a commercial bank, thrift, mutual association, mutual savings bank, savings and loan association or a savings bank.
The magazine based the list on workplace policies, practices, demographics and confidential employee surveys.
HomeBanc, with assets of more than $950 million, was ranked behind Live Oak Bank of Wilmington, N.C.
HomeBanc, which has 14 offices, made the list for the fourth straight year.
Draken aircraft face F-35 for fighter training
Lakeland-based Draken International recently flew its Douglas A-4K Skyhawk fighter jets as simulated adversaries to test the next generation of stealth aircraft F-35 at Edwards Air Force Base.
This was the first time any commercial air services company served as an opponent in training against the F-35.
Draken flew as many as five of its A-4Ks against both Royal Netherlands Air Force and Royal Air Force F-35A and F-35B aircraft as well as Royal Netherlands F-16 Vipers.
Draken's A-4K aircraft are equipped with fourth-generation technology, which includes Pulse Doppler radar, electronic attack pods and ground controllers. The F-35 is considered a fifth generation aircraft because of a number of technology advances.
