Accounting firm scores a three-peat

SARASOTA — Kerkering Barberio & Co., one of the largest independent accounting firms on the Gulf Coast, was named to a list of the top 200 accounting firms in the country for the third straight year.

The Sarasota-based firm, according to a statement, is on the IPA 200, compiled by industry trade publication Inside Public Accounting. Kerkering Barberio had $19.1 million in 2014 revenues, up 6.7% from $17.9 million in 2013.

“The IPA 200 is a prestigious group, and we are proud to have made it into the ranking,” Kerkering Barberio Managing Shareholder Rob Lane says in the statement. “We believe our success is a result of the relationships we have built with the people who have helped us grow — our clients, staff and the community we serve.”

Firms on the IPA 200 range in annual revenues from $15 million to $32.4 million and from 58 to 235 employees, the release states.

Kerkering Barberio was founded in 1972. It has offices in downtown Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch and Tampa.
