TAMPA — SynDaver Labs named Mark Owens vice president of global sales and business development.

Owens plans to expand the company's presence in the modeling and simulation market in the medical training and education field, a statement says. He will also look to grow the company's global presence, in markets such as Asia Pacific, the release adds.

“His expertise in the medical field and extensive experience in medical sales will take us to the next level as we continue to expand our operations in Asia, Europe and South America,” SynDaver founder Dr. Christopher Sakezles says in the statement.

Owens was previously the director of U.S. government sales for Laerdal Medical. He is also a U.S. Army Reserve lieutenant colonel and has served in multiple leadership capacities for more than 30 years.

SynDaver Labs manufactures synthetic humans for training in schools, hospitals and military installations. The company employs more than 100 people.
