SARASOTA — The Bradenton Area and Sarasota County economic development corporations have scheduled the area's first Health Innovation Week for Nov. 9 through Nov. 13.

The week will highlight the local players that have provided a positive spark to the areas health care industry. Its purpose is to build on that growth and possibly bring more companies to the already growing region.

“We want to tell the story of the region's emergence as a center for health innovation in a way that can attract more resources for the sector to continue growing,” said Mark Huey, president and CEO of the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County, in a statement.

Health Innovation Week will provide an opportunity for companies to learn from each other and inform the community of what the region is doing as a health innovation center, said Sharon Hillstrom, president and CEO of the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corp., in the statement.

The Bradenton Area and Sarasota County EDCs lead the development and diversification of the economy in their respective communities.
