TAMPA — Rick Homans has been named the next president and CEO of the Tampa Bay Partnership, effective Nov. 9.

Homans comes to the Tampa Bay Partnership as “the ideal person to lead the charge in improving the region's competitiveness and economic prosperity,” said Sandy Murman, chairwoman of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, in a statement.

Most recently, Homans served as the president and CEO of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. for nearly four years. His experience helped set him apart as a candidate.

“I am confident that Rick is the right person for the job as his extensive experience closely aligns with the strategic direction of the organization, which will focus on solidifying 'one voice' for the region,” Tampa Bay Partnership Chair Brian Lamb said in the statement.

The Tampa Bay Partnership is a regional organization focused on stimulating economic growth and development. It serves eight counties surrounding the Tampa Bay area.
