FORT MYERS — The Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach has opened an office in fast-growing South Lee County.

The center on U.S. 41 south of Alico Road includes a classroom for educational programs for the members who work in the area. The center is located at 17640 Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers.

“One of the key elements of our strategic plan is to be the go-to resource center, which includes providing premiere education and resources,” says Jason Jakus, president of the association, in a statement. “As we looked at the geographical make-up of our membership and how many of our brokerages are located in the southern part of the county, we knew we had to put a service center there to better serve them.”

Meanwhile, the boards of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach and the Cape Coral Association of Realtors recently announced plans to combine their organizations. If members vote to approve it, the combined organizations will have three offices and about 6,000 members.
