FORT MYERS — Interop Technologies has opened an office in Dublin, Ireland, to provide voice and text-messaging services to cellular phone providers in Europe.

“We are already in the deployment phase with several customers and plan to announce the roll-out of a major project later this year,” says Interop CEO John Dwyer, in a statement.

Headquartered in Fort Myers, Interop also has an operations center in Dallas. The company provides voice and text-messaging services to smaller cell-phone operators that can't afford to deploy their own services.

One of the key features of Interop's service is changing with the rapid evolution of cellular technology. For example, cell-phone operators on 2G or 3G networks will be able to more easily upgrade to faster technology, Interop says.

“The immediate benefits of reduced cost, complexity, and human capital requirements are matched equally by the future ability to seamlessly layer on new innovative features as the network, business and subscriber demand evolves,” says Dwyer in the statement.
