Fifth Avenue is a good address for Wasmer, Schroeder.

The top-performing bond manager is headquartered on tony Fifth Avenue South in Naples, from where it manages $5.3 billion in fixed-income investments.

Now Wasmer, Schroeder has opened another Fifth Avenue location: a New York City office in midtown Manhattan at Fifth Avenue and 50th Street.

“As one would expect, it's the financial capital of the world,” says Martin Wasmer, CEO of the firm he started with Michael Schroeder, president and chief investment officer, in Naples more than 28 years ago.

Wasmer, Schroeder provides professional bond management to financial advisers who cater to wealthy individuals, families and institutions. “If you go through the list of registered investment advisers, city by city, the concentration in New York City is 10 times the next metro area,” says Wasmer.

As much as technology has made it possible for Wasmer, Schroeder to conduct business from Naples, it helps to have a presence in New York where executives can meet face-to-face with clients on short notice. Besides New York City, Wasmer, Schroeder also has offices in Cleveland, Philadelphia and Portland, Ore.

Matthew Kuss, recently named a managing director at Wasmer, Schroeder, will lead the firm's New York City office. He previously served as marketing director for Samson Capital Advisors in New York. “It's an exciting milestone,” says Wasmer.
