Lot sells for nearly $1M

NORTH PORT — Meridian Senior Living acquired a nearly six-acre property in south Sarasota County, on the border of Charlotte County, for $900,000.

Meridian acquired the lot, on 5.93 acres in North Port, from Jaiguru Properties, according to a statement. The acquisition paves the way for a multifamily development, adds the statement, from Ashley Bloom and Ron Ziegler of Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate Advisors, who represented Jaiguru.

“We're continuing to experience growing interest and activity in the area that encompasses south Sarasota County into Charlotte County,” Bloom says in the statement. “We see this as the next hot growth opportunity for Southwest Florida.”
