ST. PETERSBURG — St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport served more than 136,000 passengers in October, the most it has ever served in the month, according to a statement.

October traffic at the airport has increased every year since 2011, the statement adds. Total October traffic this year increased 45% over 2014.

Allegiant Air dominated the airline market share, piloting nearly 96% of all flights out of St. Pete-Clearwater. That number could see an increase in November, too, because Allegiant is adding three new destinations: Appleton, Wis., Scranton, Pa., and Kansas City, Mo.

Through the first 10 months of the year, total passenger traffic at St. Pete-Clearwater is more than 1.34 million, a new record for the airport. The previous record high for one year came in 2004, when it served more than 1.33 million passengers.
