Area home health firm sold for $63M

SARASOTA — Amedisys Inc., a home health care and hospice company based out of Baton Rouge, La., acquired Lakewood Ranch-based Infinity HomeCare for $63 million.

Infinity, according to a release, has more than $50 million in annual revenues. The company was founded in 2006 and has at least 600 employees.

Infinity HomeCare also has 15 centers in Florida and cares for more than 14,000 patients each year, according to the statement. The purchase, expected to close Dec. 31, is part of Amedisys' “plan to resume growth by acquiring high quality assets in key markets,” says Amedisys president and CEO Paul Kusserow in the release.

Amedisys is a home health and hospice care company that treats more than 360,000 patients each year.
