Home prices in Florida are rising above the national average, marked by a large increase in the North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton region.
The Sarasota-Manatee area, including distressed sales, saw a price increase of 12.1% in September 2015 compared to the previous year, according to data provider CoreLogic. That's nearly double the national average price increase of 6.4%. Florida overall posted a year-over-year price increase of 7.8%, the seventh highest of all states, CoreLogic adds.
On a month-over-month basis in North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton, prices increased by 0.7%, right on par with the 0.6% increase nationwide.
CoreLogic's forecast predicts a nationwide year-over-year increase of 4.7% in September 2016, but suggests home prices may dip slightly month-over-month from September to October.
