Sunset Automotive Group purchased the 10-acre former Sarasota Springfest grounds in Palmer Ranch for $2.67 million.
The price equated to $267,608 per acre.
According to a revised site plan, the automotive group acquired the property with the goal of creating a 27,274-square-foot body shop and a 9,032-square-foot auction building to support new Audi and Infiniti dealerships on Clark Road. The property, which will also include 5,544 square feet of detail bay space, will have 626 total parking spaces.
Springfest used the site for the annual event from 2008 to 2010, according to permit records.
Sunset Automotive Group received building permits in February to construct buildings for two dealerships, Coast Infiniti and Audi of Sarasota, at 4900 Clark Road, Sarasota.
Clark Road is a popular location for automobile dealerships. The two new dealership buildings are located near Mercedes-Benz of Sarasota, Wilde Lexus of Sarasota, Gettel Acura, BMW of Sarasota and Lamborghini Sarasota.
Calls to Sunset Automotive Group for comment were not returned as of deadline.
