SELLER: Serenoa Golf Club LP

LAW FIRM ON DEED: Koontz & Associates PL, Sarasota

PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
An investment group, led by Jon Whittemore and Larry Galloway, purchased the 80-acre Serenoa Golf Club for $3.25 million.

The price equated to $40,625 per acre.

The property included the 18-hole semi-private golf course in a housing community along with a clubhouse, driving range and putting green.

The buyers also own the 18-hole Rolling Green Golf Club in Sarasota.

“The whole idea is to keep golf alive and promote the game of golf to the Sarasota community,” says Kevin Paschall, who is part of the new ownership group. “The biggest thing that
this group does is promote having really good greens and fairways that are always in good shape.”

Serenoa Golf Club is the only golf course designed by Mark Alden.

Paschall says the ownership will evaluate the golf course to see what improvements are needed this summer.

The purchase entity, Serenoa Holdings LLC, mortgaged the property to Sabal Palm Bank for two loans totaling $2.83 million.
