LEHIGH ACRES — Community Health Association, a nonprofit health education group in Lehigh Acres, has established a $1.5 million fund for health care education in that area.

Established at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, the money will be used to fund the nonprofit Lehigh Community Services for health education and improve the quality of care in Lehigh Acres, an unincorporated area east of Interstate 75 in Lee County.

“It was the intent of our board to help the community as much as we could, and we are pleased with our legacy and what this will do for Lehigh,” says Jon Olliff, Community Health's board treasurer.

The association recently awarded Lehigh Community Services the first check totaling $62,645. “This funding is a godsend, and we're humbled and sincerely grateful for this incredible opportunity to expand services in Lehigh,” says Rae Nicely, executive director of Lehigh Community Services.
