NAPLES — State law enforcement officers arrested a Naples business owner for failing to obtain workers' compensation insurance in a case where two employees were killed in a workplace accident last year.

According to a statement from Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, the Florida Department of Financial Services' Division of Insurance Fraud announced the arrest of Jesus Antelo Arias of Naples. If convicted, Arias faces a maximum five-year prison sentence.

Arias is the owner of Antelo Investments, which employed two workers who were killed in September when their ladder struck a power line in the Naples Trace Condominiums community.

Neither of Arias' businesses, Antelo Investments or Gardenscape Lawn Maintenance, had workers' compensation for employees.
