TAMPA — Oxtal Real Estate Advisors, a firm started by longtime real estate appraiser Ron Oxtal 14 years ago, has become part of the real estate valuation and consulting company Capright.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it's expected to close April 1 when Oxtal becomes a principal with Capright. The firm will maintain the company's West Cass Street office.

Jay Marling, Capright's CEO, says the merger was the result of his personal friendship with Oxtal that has lasted 20 years.

“I have tremendous respect for his real estate intellect, his leadership, and his team's dedication to quality and client service,” Marling says, in a release. “This is a perfect fit.”

Oxtal started his firm in 2001 as a successor to R-E Marketing Consultants, a company he started at in 1982, and was a 50% owner of by 1986, according to the company's website. He became president of R-E in 1994, and grew it to more than 30 employees.

Capright now expands to seven locations, including its Chicago headquarters, as well as offices in Miami, Boston, Dallas, San Diego, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
