NAPLES — Collier County commissioners agreed to pay more than $900,000 to lease office space in Naples and subsidize rents for tenants to move there.

Collier County agreed to lease 9,057 square feet at Kraft Office Center at 3510 Kraft Road for five years at a total cost of $917,390. It has dubbed the space a “soft landing business accelerator.”

The county intends to lease space to national and international companies and provide them with subsidized rents, fees and marketing. The accelerator is scheduled to move in permanently in September from temporary space.

“This is a significant step for our soft landing accelerator project,” says Bruce Register, director of the county's business and economic development division. “The completion of this facility will ensure Collier County has a significant landmark for economic development in Florida.”
