OLDSMAR — Vology Inc. continues to shop for new companies to acquire, and has found one close to home the Oldsmar company says has now made it the largest managed IT service provider in the region.

Vology completed its purchase of Offsite Technology Solutions of Tampa, a technical information technology services company that focuses on west central Florida businesses. Offsite's business model, according to a release, is to focus on companies looking to outsource all of its IT network management.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“In order for our business at Offsite Technology Solutions to continue to evolve, Vology offered significant resources that would have taken us years to build on our own, so the partnership made sense for both of us,” says Ron Zielin, Offsite's president and principal owner, in a release. Zielin will become Vology's new director of managed services sales.

Vology has worked in recent years to create growth through acquisition, getting a boost on that strategy after raising $32.5 million in debt financing and equity through Bank of America and LLM Capital Partners LLC of Boston in 2011.

“This infusion of new capital substantially improves our balance sheet, and will enable Vology to more rapidly advance our market position and extend our product and service offerings to meet the evolving needs of our current and expanding customer base,” Vology CEO Barry Shevlin said at the time.

Vology's most recently announced acquisition before Offsite Technology was Bayshore Technologies in January 2013. The combined firm at that time jumped to 200 employees, with plans to create 100 more jobs by the beginning of 2015. After the Offsite Technology acquisition, Vology says it has 228 employees.

Vology sells new and refurbished communications and networking equipment. It was founded in 2002 as Network Liquidators.
