Motel 6 parent company buying Naples firm's cloud services
Dallas' G6 Hospitality LLC selected Above Property LLC's cloud-based revenue optimization services for its Motel 6 and Studio 6 hotel properties.
Naples-based Above Property says its revenue management software constantly offers pricing recommendations, which the company says is a significant advantage over most revenue management systems, which make far fewer suggestions each day.
G6 Hospitality LLC owns, operates and franchises more than 1,200 economy lodging properties under the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands in the United States and Canada.
Givens Givens Sparks names principal attorney
Tampa-based divorce and family law firm Givens Givens Sparks has a new principal attorney. Victoria Cruz-Garcia comes to the firm from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she was an assistant professor.
Prior to teaching, Victoria Cruz-Garcia was an associate at Solomon Law Group PA in Tampa and a trial attorney with the Curry Law Group P.A. in Brandon.
Majestic Athletic lands Liverpool Football license
Tampa-based Majestic Athletic reached a partnership agreement with one of the most well known soccer organizations in the world, the Liverpool Football Club. As part of the deal, Majestic receives a global license to design, manufacture and distribute a broad assortment of fan apparel.
“Our partnership with Liverpool FC, a football institution and celebrated global brand, is the perfect marriage between two high performers cut from the same cloth,” Jim Pisani, Majestic Athletic president, says in a press release.
Majestic Athletic designs, markets and manufactures performance athletic apparel, team uniforms, outerwear and licensed athletic wear. It makes the official on-field uniforms for Major League Baseball.
Frank Winston Crum Insurance is Sustainability Company of the Year
Frank Winston Crum Insurance Co. was awarded the 2015 Clearwater Downtown Partnership Momentum Award for Sustainability Company of the Year at the 8th Annual Momentum Awards. The insurance carrier says it was recognized because of its growth the past 12 years.
“We've worked hard to strengthen and scale our business to become competitors on a national stage, and advance the profile of Clearwater-based businesses,” Matt Crum, president of Frank Winston Crum Insurance, says in a press release.
Odyssey Marine finds five wrecks in Northern Atlantic
Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc. (symbol: OMEX; recent price: $0.61), announced it located five 20th century shipwrecks in a region described as the “Olympus” project area and has completed preliminary inspections. The ships were believed to be carrying significant cargoes of gold and silver at the time of their sinking in the Northern Atlantic.
The firm is now examining the information gathered during the expedition to determine the financial and technical feasibility of recovery operations.
“In one 30-day rotation, the team located four new targeted shipwrecks and conducted reconnaissance on a total of five targeted shipwrecks,” Mark Gordon, Odyssey's CEO, says in a press release. “The data collected will allow us to plan the most cost-efficient recovery plan utilizing the Odyssey Explorer and a leased vessel.”
Mitel recognizes Tech Data as Americas Distributor of the Year
Tech Data Corp. (symbol: TECD; recent price: $62.69) was designated the 2014 Americas Distributor of the Year by enterprise and mobile communications firm Mitel. The award recognized the Clearwater firm's business performance in 2014, revenue growth, leadership in infrastructure solutions and vertical specialization.
Encore Bank CEO named to state association board
Tom Ray, CEO of Naples-based Encore Bank, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Florida Bankers Association. He will serve a two-year term. Bankers are nominated by their peers and selected based upon their service to the association, community involvement and geographic region.
The Florida Bankers Association's board of directors is responsible for setting policy and overseeing the general operation of the association.
