Starry company enters top 10 market share list

MANATEE COUNTY — Star2Star Communications, a cloud-based business-to-business communication firm, has been named one of the largest companies in North America in a market share study.

Star2Star, based out of a facility near the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, was on the list from consulting and market research firm Frost & Sullivan. Other companies on the list, according to a release, include large telecom and cable operators.

“As we enter our tenth year in business, it is gratifying to see our progress against companies many times our size,” Star2Star CEO Norman Worthington says in the statement. “We knew from the outset that we had better technology and a better business model, and this report is validation of both.”

Star2Star was founded in 2006. The company, which raised $30 million from a private equity fund late last year, uses could communication systems to unify customer's voice, video, fax and instant messaging into a single system. Clients include large national retail chains with multiple locations.
