Bradenton lawyer to oversee judge selection panel

BRADENTON — Real estate attorney Will Robinson, with Blalock Walters, has been elected chair of the Twelfth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission.

The commission, according to a release, nominates potential judges for vacancies in the court, and then sends that list to Florida Gov. Rick Scott. One upcoming task for the commission is to find replacements for two judges who recently announced their retirement, Peter Dubensky and James Parker.

“The firm congratulates Will on this esteemed appointment,” Blalock Walters Managing Partner Jonathan Fleece says in the release. “It is a testament to Will's commitment to public service and the judicial branch of government. He is well qualified and committed to perform marvelously through his term.”

Blalock Walters is a Bradenton-based firm with more than 20 attorneys. Robinson's practice focuses mostly on real estate, land use zoning and development law. . He was a recipient of the Business Observer's 40 under 40 award last year.
