BRADENTON -- Although it took several months longer than expected, Manatee Glens has a new affiliation — and a new name.
The Bradenton-based behavioral health hospital and outpatient practice has finalized an affiliation agreement with Nashville-based Centerstone it originally announced last October. The agreement means Manatee Glens will become Centerstone of Florida, with new signage and branding expected to begin in September.
Mary Ruiz, the current president and CEO of Manatee Glens, will continue to serve as CEO of the Florida organization. Manatee Glens will continue as a nonprofit, with a local board of governance, according to a release.
Ruiz also will be a part of the Centerstone national organizational structure, serving as chief strategy officer.
Centerstone describes itself as one of the largest nonprofit providers of behavioral health care in the nation. It has 157 locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee, and approximately $210 million in annual revenue. It employs 3,100 people serving an estimated 142,000 patients.
Manatee Glens, in business more than 60 years, serves 16,000 clients each year for mental health, addictions, child abuse, neglect and adoption.
