SARASOTA — Solar golf cart and light utility vehicle manufacturer Cruise Car secured a $1 million order to manufacture a fleet of more than 100 solar powered vehicles for a Caribbean resort.

The client, according to a release, is Kittitian Hills Resort in the West Indies, a 400-acre hillside project scheduled to open later this year. Cruise Car, which specializes in solar-electric low-speed vehicles, will manufacture hospitality, passenger and resort utility vehicles for Kittitian Hills, the release adds.

“[Kittitian Hills] required more than a converted golf cart,” Cruise Car General Manager and Partner Adam Sulimirski says in the release. “They were looking for custom hospitality vehicles for a wide range of applications, and that's our specialty.”

Cruise Cars has been on a growth surge over the last few years, and now has vehicles in operation in more than 250 federal government facilities and 25 countries.
