Sarasota bank names prominent lawyer to board

SARASOTA — Prominent Bradenton business and real estate attorney Cliff Walters has joined the board of Sarasota-based Insignia Bank.

Walters concentrates on business counseling and planning law, complex real estate transactions, commercial law and strategic estate planning at Bradenton-based Blalock Walters, where he's a principal and partner. An attorney since 1976, Walters is a previous winner of a Manatee County Bar Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Blalock Walters, founded in the 1920s, opened a Sarasota office in 2005 and expanded to St. Petersburg in 2014.

“Insignia Bank is very pleased to have Cliff join our board,” Insignia Chairman and CEO Charles Brown says in the release. “His extensive community knowledge and leadership will add yet another benefit for our current and prospective customers in Manatee and Sarasota counties.”

Walters has held leadership positions on boards of several community and business organizations. The list includes the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, the Manatee Chamber of Commerce and the Manatee County Economic Development Council. Walters is currently the Governance Chair for the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Foundation and is on the board for the Boys and Girls Club Foundation.
