Convenience store chain 7-Eleven wants to put you in business.

For 200 low-sales-volume stores across the country, including six in Fort Myers and Bonita Springs, the chain is waiving its franchise fee. That fee can total as much as $80,000, the company says.

The company will waive the fee through June 30 for new franchisees and existing ones who want to expand. Additional incentives may be available because these stores have a low volume of sales, the company says.

Franchisees still must meet 7-Eleven's qualifications, including excellent credit and $50,000 in liquid assets. Prospective franchisees must also be responsible for the costs of licensing, permits and the initial down payment on inventory, totaling approximately $30,000.
