VENICE — The Venice Golf and Country Club will undergo a $2.5 million renovation project this summer.
The project, according to a release, includes a state-of-the-art golf course irrigation system and new grass on all the fairways, tees and greens. The new irrigation system is projected to reduce the amount of water consumption by around 30% to 40% a year, the release adds. A grand re-opening for the course is scheduled for October.
“Our board of directors has planned effectively to position The Venice Golf and Country Club for continued success,” General Manager Jim Schell says in the release. “The result is a club our members are proud of and a wonderful place to invite friends and family to visit.”
The Venice Golf and Country Club has had other upgrades over the last five years. That includes a new swimming pool and outdoor entertainment area with an 11-person hot tub, and a remolded clubhouse. The golf course bunkers were redesigned and rebuilt in 2013. Club officials have also expanded membership options to non-residents of the community, which consists of 587 single-family homes on 460 acres.
