TAMPA — Oasis Outsourcing, the nation's largest privately held professional employer organization, has merged with Tampa-based A1HR.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but A1HR will become a new division of West Palm Beach-based Oasis, according to a statement. “Becoming a division of Oasis will lead to additional resources and support for A1HR and more importantly our clients,” says Mel Klinghoffer, A1HR's president, in a statement.

Professional employer organizations, also referred to as PEOs or employee-leasing companies, handle a wide range of human resources, payroll and other back-office tasks for a variety of businesses.

A1HR has 70 inside employees and 20,000 employees on clients' worksites.

Founded in 1996, Oasis Outsourcing serves nearly 200,000 employees and 6,000 clients nationwide. It has 28 offices throughout the country, including locations in New York, California and Texas, along with other states. It has Florida offices in Boca Raton, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Sarasota and West Palm Beach.
