Business radio station cranks up debut

TAMPA — Camarillo, Calif.-based Salem Media Group has launched a new radio station, 1380 The Biz, for the Tampa/Sarasota region.

The station “will provide professionals with the news and information needed to help them thrive in an ever-changing economic climate,” Salem Tampa/Sarasota general manager Barb Yoder says in a statement.

The station will feature local and national radio hosts 24 hours a day, the statement adds. Regular features will include The Watchdog on Wall Street, Bloomberg Small Business Reports and Best Stocks Now. Other shows include Gulf Coast area hosts such as Chris Markowski and Phil Grande.

Salem Media Group, founded in 1986, owns and operates 117 local radio stations nationwide, including 72 stations in top 25 media markets. It has five stations in the Tampa/Sarasota region, AM 860 The Answer and AM 930 The Answer.
